Looks like Denis Kirk sez the whole bloody thing is about 9.5mm thick, so the friction material should be 6 or 7 mm.

According to the fitment chart there,this pad fits most of the 700/750 range - models A, H, L K, R, N and a bunch of 1000 and 1100 models.

If I'm reading this correctly you are trying to replace the front brake pads on a 1983 KZ750-N1 Spectre. Assuming that is correct, I suggest you simply buy the correct Kawasaki brake pads which according to the Kawasaki site (see link below) are part number 43082-1021. They are available on eBay, just search using Kawasaki 43082-1021 as the search criteria. If they do not fit there must be a different problem to be solved. Ed
