1978 KZ650 front MC advise?

My research tells me that any 7/8" bar 14mm unit will work no?
Ideally I wish to find a more modern used Kawasaki MC with the built in brake like switch. This would allow me to run a fresh (single) braided stainless steel brake line from my front caliper to my new MC. This also allows me to ditch the stock (hidden underneath the steering yoke) brake switch and get a firm feeling brake system.
Anyone suggest what particular year or model Kawasaki would work? Have anyone of you folks completed this mod?

I installed a m/c from a Honda CBR500, plus the Fr br wire lead from a KZ1000P (same wire colors & the terminals matched).
My motorcycle is a 1981 KZ650-CSR w single disk Fr brake & Emgo Euro bars.
note: did not use the police brake light switch.

Is there a reason you do not say what model 1978 KZ650 you have? I'm sure you are aware that there are significant differences in the braking systems, and that they do not all use the same front master cylinder. So maybe giving us a clue would be helpful? Oh, and no; not any 7/8" bar 14mm will necessarily work. It may or may not work depending on which model 1978 KZ650 you have. If you add the year and exact model of your bike to your signature line you won't need to include it in future postings. Ed
