KZ 1100 SHAFT 16 inch Rear wheel Swop to a ZL 900 Eliminator 15 inch rear wheel was created by ZedChairs
Hi to one and all.
I have a question to ask regarding the 16 inch rear wheel on my 1982 KZ1100 Shaft
I have a sidecar/hack attached to it and I could do with putting on a 15 inch rear wheel from ZL 900 Eliminator .
I have looked at part numbers for the 2 final drives and they have the same part number at the beginning.
The reason for wanting to swap wheels is so I can fit a car tyre/tire (going to the darkside) so I can get better mileage, and the reduced wheel size will help with a better final drive ratio.
Thanks in advance

Maybe, maybe not. It isn't the size of the wheel that matters; it's the outside diameter of the tire, so be sure to take that into consideration. You may find that the outside diameter of the 15 inch tire is the same as that of the 16 inch tire. Ed

Cheers Ed. In the UK there is a far greater selection of 15" tyres to match up with the ZL wheel. Thanks for the info.

Subscribed.
I have a 1980 Kz1000st and I am looking at installing a ZL900/1000 swingarm, tire /rim. Mine has a 17" rear wheel.

Some things are best left unfixed, and this IMHO is one of them.
