KZ 400 bar swap onto a KZ 440 was created by saboon
Hey folks. New to the forum. I purchased a 1981 KZ 440 LTD with 4K miles. It had been sitting for years under a a cover in a carport. After checking for air box rodents, replacing the spark plug boots and wire, rebuilding the carbs, checking for oil pressure, and “rehabilitating” the rusty timing advance unit, she came to life again. Chrome is heavily pitted, but all systems work fine. My plan is to make it into a tasteful, but comfortable cafesque bike.
My question: I would like to rid the bike of the mini ape hangers. Can I swap directly to traditional KZ 400 handlebars? If so, will stock KZ 400 clutch and throttle cables be the right length to fit on the KZ 440?
Thank you in advance for your assistance

If it is a standard 7/8" bars, sure. Cables might be a bit long with the shorter height bars. Or are they part of the fork setup. Like clip ons?
