KZ650 Vin Decoding was created by kawirider
Hello all,
I am trying to figure out what model my kz began life as. I bought the bike as a box of parts and a bare chassis from a less than desirable previous owner, and I had suspected the engine and frame were not matching. I went through this file www.kzrider.com/filebase?task=download.s...id=1178&catid=64&m=0 and couldn't find a match for either my engine (KZ650BE078154) or chassis (KZ650B037822) unless i'm not reading it correctly. I'm pretty confident its a KZ650B2A judging from various pictures online, the original orange paint color, and the lack of a vin in this file for a 650 B2A. Can anyone who has more knowledge confirm?

Pictures would help a lot. As an example, if the generator cover has 3 allen bolts it is a 1977 engine (see below). Ed

From info I found in the past not claiming it is 100% correct but from what I could find and make sense of both the engine and frame numbers you posted fall within the numbers for a 1978 B2A model.
