Wheel swap was created by Mtl1000
This topic has been talked about but I still need some clarification. I want to swap my 16 inch to a 18 inch from a z1r on to my 1980 Ltd 1000 . After research the only thing I see different is the collar spacer . Now after more research the calipers and rotors are different . What are the differences in caliper and rotor and can I use the ones from my 16 inch mag . Or maybe get the caliper from a kz1000 with the 18 inch spoke wheels , I think I’ll have a hard time getting the caliper and rotor from the z1r Thank you

It might not be that hard to find a Z1R style rotor and caliper. The parts used on the Z1R were the same as the standard KZ1000A from 77-80. They are fairly common, maybe more common than the LTD calipers.

The LTD caliper is smaller and more square than the Z1R (and KZ1000A) rear caliper. The rotor I think has a different offset from the mounting flange. So I think you'd have to replace them both as a set. What are the differences in caliper and rotor and can I use the ones from my 16 inch mag .
