Has anyone done a swap of 2008-12 ninja 250 wheels onto there kz440 for more tire options I was thinking of trying to do that on my bike since I don't like the stock wheels and I'm mostly sure the ninja wheels are lighter and would give me more tire options

I've done a few wheel swaps and if you can't use a lathe and or a mill then it gets expensive. You have to be able to manufacture spacers to make them fit, find bearings to suit the other bikes axle size {inner diameter}, sort out rear sprocket alignment, I usually machine the sprocket carrier but offset sprockets can sometimes be had, or a combination of the two, then you have to work out the brakes, the new wheels won't line up with your front calipers, the discs won't line up, and the rear will need a disc conversion creating more headaches. There's nothing straight forward in doing these swaps.

what 440 is it? chain drive or belt. cast alloy or spoked wheels.
era wheels are probably the only simple option. nothing is easy on an old mc. ha ha.

It's not impossible to do, but as 750 R1 says, you, at least, need to know a guy with a lathe & the ability to use it. Axle diameter VS wheel bearings/spacers... Brake caliper VS rotor and the list goes on & on. It is a worthwhile swap in the end. You get modern(ish) wheels, tires and sometimes brakes on an older model.

I have Astralites and Spondon/Sandy Kosman parts on my Suzuki & my wife has later model GPz bits on her '81 model.

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

You can throw the speedo drive into the mix as well...!

I forget what I was trying to do, but I had an issue once trying to find a rear sprocket in a certain pitch.
If the wheels use the same axle diameter and chain pitch youre 75% there.
