but if local auto parts places carry same size it'd be so much easier

Local Kawasaki dealer likely has them.

if I need to drill the bulk of the old bleeder out what drill bit size would you use? broke an easy out with previous attempt argh

Easy outs are only any use on things that have been over tightened and broken (not seized in) if you go a couple of mm smaller than the thread you should be able to collapse the remains inwards with a pin punch - don't drill too deep as the bleed nipple has a "seat" in the calliper that you don't want to damage
