76 KZ 900 A4 wheels was created by MAS76KZ
Hi! I'm Mark, new to here. I have been searching around the archives looking for information on finding mag wheels that would fit on this bike. It only has 7000 miles on it and I have finely got it running nice. Both the front and back wheels have a flat spot on the rim from sitting 20 years on flat tires. i am looking for ideas or information about other wheels that would possible fit the stock forks and swing arm. I thought about converting to disc on rear if its not too tuff to do!

Nice bike, and with only 7000k it's barely broken in! I have Lester wheels on my 76 with a drum brake. Kinda pricey, but really set off the bike. Usually find some on Ebay, and make sure they are for a 900 with 4 bolt front rotor mounts. They just bolt on, no mods required. If your interested in a set of spokes I have my old ones which are true and shinny. Depends on how stock you want to keep your bike!

Check with the eBay seller of
This Item
, I believe he is (or was) a member here and knows the KZ wheels, and is usually selling on eBay.

I found a straight set of spoked wheel for 100 each and was not sure if that was good price or not?
Right after I brought it home I started to watch E-Bay for Lesters. Did not think I could aford them. Was supprised to see them go that high.

KZ1000 wheels up through 79 should work, as will KZ750 twin wheels through 1980, and KZ650 front wheel up through 1980.
Why mess around trying to get a 440 wheel to work when there are so many wheels available that will just bolt on?

Yes dont try to swap out bearings from a 440 wheel + making sure it doesnt go down the road like a wounded coyote. It didnt work out for me with 550 wheels. Ive seen some Lester wheels on ebay go for as much as 250+ a piece. Some for cheap in good condition too. Im pretty sure the triple 500 and 750 wheels are bolt on Z wheels also but dont quote me on that one!

Thanks guys I am looking at the wheels on Ebay now!
The 750 wheels all look like they have daul front and single disc brakes as well as the 1000.
The 650 front looks good!

Don't bother with the 80 and up KZ750 four cylinder wheels, they are not a bolt on for your bike either.

Thanks Steell!
I will stay in the late 70s and look around!
Do the spoke wheels take alot of work to keep running good?

Just keep the spokes tight and get them checked for trueness (is that a word? ) whenever you put new tires on them.
I'm assuming you are speaking of wire spoke wheels.
