5/8 Offset Sprocket close to frame.

My 5/8" sprocket runs extremely close to the frame on mine. I have heard about people taking the swingarm off and heating the frame where the chain rubs and then hitting those areas with a hammer to dent the frame just enough for clearance. Its not suppose to weaken the frame enough to notice. You might try that since you're in the mock-up stage. Just a thought.

This is the way most have handled this problem for 25+ years. It is usually only the back frame tube that has an interference problem with a 5/8" offset sprocket. I personally cut a channel in that tube and welded metal back in. Either method works, I just wanted a neater way to do it but many race bikes have done it this way and it works fine...........mod

here is a pic of the swingarm being mached up before it was extended.

The 530 and the 630 chain is the same width, it's the pitch that's different. If you have clearance problems with the 530 you can switch to a 520 setup which is much narrower (about 1/8 inch narrower) even with o rings but you must use a high quality chain. EK makes one that's extremely strong, the 520 RXO which could easily handle your horsepower.
Is the 520 the same pitch as the 530, so I can run the same sprockets?
Is there a good 520 non o-ring chain out there? This may give me the clearance I need.
Didn't have a chance to work on it last night, I'll research the 520 chain and maybe go this route.
Thank you all for your time.

Looks like i'll have to clearance, and maybe consider a non o-ring chain.

Problem is, the manufacturers don't list the OUTSIDE width, which can vary widely even within the same chain size due to o-ring vs non o-ring.
Has anyone heard of a 520 or 525 offset front sprocket?
Does anyone know the OUTSIDE width of a 520 or 525 chain (o-ring or non) or a 530 non o-ring? I already have 2 new chains that I can't use and need to get some measurements before I add to my new chain collection.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks

I built mine with a 5.5" ZX9 wheel with a 170 tire in a ZZR1200 swingarm. To get the sprockets to line up, I used a ZZR1100 24mm offset front sprocket with a 1mm spacer behind it, with a non O ring chain. The chain is very close to the frame but never actually hit or rubbed.
You are running a non o-ring 530 chain? Can you measure the outside width? That would be a huge help.
