Question on air shocks was created by ScottZ
My 82 Spectre owners manual (Thanks Mcdroid!) mentions that you shouldn't use a tire gauge to check the pressure in the shocks because you lose air when you connect it. What should I check it with? The manual says to use the one that came in the tool kit, but it is missing from mine. Any ideas?

I usually borrow my riding buddy's Harley pump and gauge. Designed to allow precise control for air volume, it features a "micro bleed" valve. You can frequently find them for around $20 -$30 on eBay under Harley p/n 54630-03A. I think they are made by Progressive Suspension and you see 30 and 60 psi models offered. The 30 psi pump is plenty to allow you to set the pressure at about 8½ psi or so.
