1100 engine mounts was created by Fossil
Are the engine mounts the same throughout the range of 1000s and 1100s? Would a GPz1100 bolt into a Police model frame, or a KZ1100 frame? Just thinking/shopping around for a custom frame, got a project in mind.

mounts are the same. some engine covers are a little different but should not present any problems.

Hey Duck, i just wanted to say thank you for those pictures you took earlier this year. I have the 1100 in my 900 frame and to be honest it fit better than the 900 did. Thanks again Jason

Thanks, that what I was hoping for. Should make things easier if I do go ahead with what I have in mind.

900/1000 frame/engine have FOUR mounts
all models the same
1000J and 1100 frame and engine have THREE mounts
all models the same
Can put J in kz or kz in J but need to modify the mounts.
Some discussion of this in past dragbike.com forum topics.
Prett obvious looking at the two side by side.
Have a kz900 engine and a J police frame here that I may be messing with merging in the not too distant future if I can't score this aftermarket frame I've bene eyeing.

Wow i forgot all about this posting. Well everyone i did it and it worked great! It was almost a bolt in type of thing. I did have to remove the lower rear mounts and the lower mounts in the center on the lower frame rail. I then Had to add one mount just under the front mount that was already there. Was alot easier than it looked. I did have to use all the spacers fromt the newer J model motor. Here is a picture with the kz 1100 shaft drive to chain conversion motor in a 76 kz 900 frame. If there is anything i can do to help just ask.

Well where to being....It started out as a 1976 kz 900 dragbike. Its all Kaw but a few things. the forks rims and swing arm are all from a gxsr. I made a one off air ride for the rear swing arm. Made a new set of triple tree for the new forks.
