I have a 1979 KZ1000 ST and the rear brake rotor is too scored to use. I've looked everywhere for a new or used rotor. Anyone got any idea where to find one?
Thanks,
Bob

ive got front rotors rolling out my ears but rear rotors seem to be harder to come by.ive seen the aftermarket floating rotors in the links section but they are already drilled, does anybody know a source for floating rotors that arent drilled so i can put my own pattern in them?

Bob_z1...thanks for the reply. I hope you have one you are willing to part with. The previous owner of this bike really abused it but its in good shape and looks pretty original. I'm trying to restore it to like new condition.

Bob_z1 and all....I still have not located a rear brake rotor. Getting desperate. Does any one know the part number for the rotor? If I knew the part number I could do a world wide search....anyone?

Thanks to all, Bob:dry:

You can look up the part number at www.buykawasaki.com , click on "Order manual etc" and go from there to get to the parts diagrams.

I didn't forget you... just need to get time to go look. I know I have one, maybe two.... just not sure of the condition of them.

If he doesn't have one, I think I may have one on a bike out back I was going to take apart. Get in touch with me if he doesn't and I'll have a look see for ya.

1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

racer54: Thanks for the reply. I've been searching for that rear brake rotor for over a week now. It's really keeping me from starting my restoration work on the KZ1000 ST because without a rear brake it would be a waste of time. 1979 seems to be an odd year for Kawasaki. Parts seem hard to find. I'd like to ride the bike a little before I fix it up but if I got stopped with that back rotor like it is I'd likely get a ticket for unsafe operation.

Anyway, if you find some time take a look for me and let me know. Bob_z1 thinks he may have one but he's a pretty busy guy and may not have time to check it out.

Thanks a lot
Bob
