I like mowing the lawn but I'm not biased I'll mow anything green that grows in the yard. I have an 06' Toro LX 425 42" riding mower that I got off Craigslist for $900 back in 2010. It was like new and had only 45 hours on it because the guys wife bought it for him and his yard was too small to justify using a riding mower. The guy said it didn't work very well but I figured out that the deck was not adjusted properly. Once I sorted the deck adjustment out it cuts nice and level.
I just got a new deck drive belt and guide wheels and before I got the parts installed the starter solenoid had a nuclear meltdown. The new solenoid will be here on Saturday but the grass keeps growing. Last year I installed new spindles on the deck but the Kohler 20hp single cylinder still runs great. The mower gets used year round, in the winter I pull a 10cf trailer hauling firewood to the house.
I really like this mower because it drives so well. It has quadrant steering so it drives more like a car than a piece of lawn equipment.

It's not warming up a whole lot here in S BC but the snow has been gone in the valleys since early Feb.  Yesterday I replaced the front tire on my Goldwing and am looking for first ride by April 1.  Sweetums has the springtime itch...had the edger out on Wednesday.  Swept all the gravel off the sidewalk into the street.  She was so busy outside that my supper was late!
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I hate mowing grass but I just bought a new to me mower that should cut my mowing time in half.

I bought this zero turn from a friend of mine for $1500, it's about eight years old always kept in the garage and serviced at the dealer he bought it from.

Even has a holder for the can of suds!  But how do you drink it when each hand is on a control?  Guess you'll need one of those drinking hardhats with the cans and tubes...

Can see where your priority's rest HRM - $180 for a new mower for your good lady, £450 for your toaster (breakfast is important :))

If this is your first experience with a zero turn , the inability to drink while in motion is only one important difference you will discover.

If you have any low hanging branches that you normally hold out of the way with one hand as you pass by, you will need a different method. Getting slapped in the face is one,

If you have need to swat at an incoming insect with a large stinger, you may find that you no longer need to tend to that nearby flower bed any more.

When mowing very close to things like fence posts and the plumbing coming out of your well, you may discover that the mower deck is much stronger and more destructive than those things. An unanticipated gusher can be momentarily appreciated on an especially warm day.

Once you have mastered the fine art of independent steering, and if you got an intermediate model with an upgraded seat, you will wonder how you ever managed  to suffer through that ancient tractor-style mower.

That brings back some exhausting memories, though I did have one I liked quite a bit. It had a steel gras catcher and a 5hp engine and was self-propelled.

Howdy Clay, Doing fine here other than three major storms in three weeks the first being an EF2 tornado that was way to close to me. Not much damage the worst being our greenhouse and a few shingles missing from the garage we were lucky but my friend I got the mower from wasn't so lucky he took a direct hit and had two large barns blown completely away and the roof to his house taken off lots of damage in my area.

Hope all is well with you !!!!
