Just sayin hey and great forum! Currently bracket racing an old school style junk yard dog 7? KZ900 w/82 GPZ1100 mtr, 5" over arm, 5.5 M/T slick, bars. Best 1/8th so far 6.75 @ 100. Stock mtr w/ header.

That was kind of my question too. I thought drags were 1/4 mile in length.

Understand about the 1/8th mile thing. Maybe this will help. They seem to be most prevalent in the SE USA. Most were built and used as 1/4 mile facilities in the 50's but were shortned to 1/8th mile for lack of adequate shut-down room as vehicle speeds increased thru the years. Wasn't always possible to buy additional land to lengthen the far end of the track.
We do run bikes 1/4 mile on test and tune nights, much easier to slow even the 155 mph turbo bikes than a car.
Mine runs 10.87 @ 116 in 1/4, 6.75 @ 100 in 1/8.
Our track, Carolina Dragway in Jackson SC, is old but has been continuously upgraded to the state-of-the-art facility it is today, and is known as "the House of Hook" because of the excellent traction.

Of course, there's the debate of why a drag race is traditionally a quarter mile. I wonder what the distance used in other places is, 400m, 1km?

Perhaps its related to quarter horses in some way?

Actually thru some conspiracy between my ineptitude and security system have never been able to post pics on ANY site ANYWHERE following the dozens of different methods given to me.
Trust me, you're not missing anything. It's butt ugly, but on the other hand it sure is slow.
At best because we used some 70's and 80's old high-perf parts it does look like something someone would have built back then if they had next to nothing to spend. I guess sorta old school drag-rat bike style?
