I own a 1984 KZ1100R wich I bought about 10 years ago in 5 separate boxes. I put it all back together and it ran first try ( the guy didn't have a shed, so he took it all apart, I didn't understand either ).
Here is my dilema, I just bought a 99 ZRX swingarm, 2005 ZZR wheels and front forks but I'm reluctant to change my stock bike (except Kerker Header ). Would I be commiting sacrilige by making the conversion on this pretty rare model or is it not as rare as I think?
Thanks
Gary

It's personal choice. We all just sort of dig bikes, and especially the KZs. Post up some pics of your steed! We'll geek on it and tell you how much we like it...and then we'll start fighting over what to "do/not to do" to it! :silly:

FZR1000 suspension (wheels, arm, forks?), carbs, lock-up, cosmetics...? ...did I get it right? ...and what do I not see?

Are there any major problems with this kind of upgrade ( stock footpegs fitting around rear swingarm, stock shocks fitting on , stock handle bar and controls on new front end, etc)or is it all pretty straight forward.
By the way, does anyone know where I could get a replacement windscreen.
I'll post some pics of the Blue Monster when I get back from a business trip.

Two avenues...(1) eBay and have patience...they do appear eventually. Your bike will have the same windscreen as KZ1000R1, R2, KZ1100B2, and KZ750R1
and
(2) Google the term Maier...they sell a replacement GPz-style windscreen for about US$80.00

I think I'll have both the swingarm and forks powder coated black just to keep with the original look.

If you ask this same question in the right forum you will get a much larger response just trying to help
