Hi all.
My names Will and recently bought a 1983 KZ1100 LTD. She was imported into the UK in 1998 from America.
just under 14,000 miles on the clock, most of those look to have been dry ones. Shes in a near concorse, original state which i dont plan on changing. From what others have said about her, she's one of the best examples of this rare (in the UK) machine.
heres a couple of pictures..
those pictures were taken before I chucked a bucket of water over her and gave her a good buff up.. she now looks sweeeeeeeet.

Welcome Will...you do have a nice example...actually, they aren't all that common on this side of the pond either...they didn't sell in large numbers and all the remaining good ones were exported to Europe;) :laugh:

That brings a question to mind....
Why did sales drop off on the KZ's after 1982? I thought there would be a big demand for the 1000, 1100, and 1300's.

dannyg40: Well, I think Kawasaki saw the proverbial 'handwriting on the wall' in the early 1980's and that signaled the end of the KZ line in North America in 1984. The ZN line persisted for several years but HD was on the recovery and Americans wanted big V-twins as cruisers, not medium-sized inline fours...so Mother Kaw switched to the Vulcan line....and has done rather well since. Certainly Kaw stayed with the sportbike slant but the inline-four cruiser was pretty much dead by the early 80's.

Welcome to KZR! That's a very nice KZ you have. I'm not sure how it's different from the Spectres. I have an 82 KZ1100 Spectre which I like very much.
What's it like to register and insure an 1100 in the UK? How about rider education, did you ever participate in the "on road" sessions they use.
