Bought my 78 in the fall of 81. It was stock with the exception of the seat. since then I have made a few upgrades. Its been re-painted, seat re-covered, yosh pipe, K/N filters, re-jetted. Clutch was massaged, accel coils and wires, dyna ignition and a 1/4 fairing just for extended trips.

[img] Hello,.... tired of waiting for the snow to melt so I started surfing sites for pics of KZ650's and found this site. I have a 78 KZ650, bought it in 1981 and have ridden it every season since. It just keeps going so I keep riding.

DR...
Welcome 2 da Zone.
Lots of valuable info on this board. I suggest you read the archives first before asking any questions, you may find the info you need there.
You have a great bike, should last you forever if you take good care of it. I have a suggestion though...you should put your location and bike info in your signature line.
Have fun!
-Dave

took your suggestion and added bike info to signature line. I'll try to post a picture soon. I'am not all that computer literate so it may take awhile. Dale.

How do you know? Call my insurance agent I have been sending him money for the last 27 years, for the same bike. (not 1 claim). I'll try to post a picture soon. Dale

Cool, another KZ650 owner added to KZr!
Below is a link to a pretty decent "how-to" that another KZr member posted that should help you figure out the pic posting process:
