Hello from Northern Nevada was created by Fatuglyal
I just ran accross the KZ Riders Forum and thought I'd join in. I am also a member of the Kawasaki Forums.
I have owned my 1977 KZ1000 LTD since I bought it, sight unseen, back in the Spring of 1977. Unfortunately, I have stored it more than ridden it and it only has a little over 8,000 miles on it. I have been trying to ride more this year, but am having problems and am attempting to learn to handle these maintenance issues myself. I am hoping to find more specific information here than I can at the Kawasaki Forums.

OK...let me start off with a simple question...do you have the factory service manual (Kawasaki Heavy Industries manual)? If you don't then get it (eBay will be your source)...if you do have it, then it will answer virtually all maintenance questions/issues. You should also explore this site, particularly those headings under KZ Information.

Welcome to the site. The most common thing to need help with on these bikes is the carbs. With the low miles and a lot of sitting you might want to think about a total carb rebuild. Or maybe upgrading to a bigger set. Anyway wiredgeorge is the man for carbs. I think it's WGcarbs.com.
