It started immediately, and seems to run strong, but the drain line from the carbs just pours out gasoline. I'm assuming one or more are stuck. Is this a fix a complete rookie could do, or am I better off having a mechanic take care of it?

Each carb has its own separate float bowl overflow drain line usually attached to a nipple on bottom of float bowl and routed over the swingarm to underneath the bike.
With motor running, may rap smartly and repeatedly against carb bowl with a plastic hammer (large screw driver handle or whatever) to sometimes dislodge any crud or grit which is preventing full closure of the float needle/seat interface.
Should of course be applied to the particular carb that's overflowing, but sometimes hard to tell which carb, or more than one, so whack 'em all.
Could also be float that's stuck or hanging, which might resolve itself after running a little while.
And shame on you if running without an inline fuel filter.
Good Luck!

Now... I am honestly thinking of selling it, because I just got a job that's going to have me working tons of hours.

OMR
:woohoo: Wow....I couldn't find a link like that to save my life!
I'm still torn between keeping it in the garage and piddling with it(and occasionally puttering on it) and selling it to someone who can fix and use the bike to its full potential.
And yeah...plan B it is. Lots of hours, lots of travel, lots of time away from home... seem to miss out on the lots of money part though
