This is a link to where I got my seat from. It was the only place on the net I could find one wide enough. I'd recommend ordering from this site, but the only thing is that the fiberglass seems a little "thin". I haven't ridden much on the new seat, so at this point I don't know how it will hold up over time. Considering it cost about $150, plus the professional upholstery, plus the paint, the seat ending up costing me a lot more than I expected. Especially since my roommate just sold a stock 70's KZ seat on ebay for $60

I just bought a Vesco seat from airtech and am in the process of mounting it now. (Hence why I asked how you mounted yours). Again though, your bike looks fantastic.

Welcome, and nice bike! Regarding the seat mounting, as long as your fiberglass seat is sitting squarely on the frame tubes, the glass will hold up just fine. You don't want a gap between the frame and the seat where you are sitting. I've had mine (from the same company) for two years now and it's holding up fine.
Btw the fairing that Speedmotoco sells is that cheap plastic thing - there's a million on ebay too. Not nearly as pretty IMO.

As far as the seat, did you order the "CB75021M
Universal cafe seat" that they say is compatible with the KZ1000?
Also, are you using the stock tank?
I've been searching around for cafe racer inspiration for a long time and yours is the closest I've come to what I want -- don't be offended if I copy some of your ideas!

Also, how did you mount your light, and when you lowered the front end, did you just drop the tubes in the triple clamps or did you actually go into the internals and drop the travel of the fork itself?
Sorry to nag you with questions, I just love your bike.
