Hi, y'all.
I have a 1992 KZ1000 P that belongs to my uncle, I am "storing" it for him, and fixing it up just a little.
Here's some photos after I got it home. It had been in an open shed in NW Pennsylvania for the last 18 months or more, and before that it went from garage to garage for a couple of years.
Crack in fairing...

A lil elbow grease and she'll be looking her best again. How's she running?

I have recently found out a rag and some elbow grease can make a world of difference as far as appearance goes. I believe most would recommend changing the oil and filter. I wouldn't know where to begin fuel or ingnition system. Fresh fuel would be a good start I suppose. This is all assuming you do want to get it running, if it is not already.
I'm not worthy to welcome you to the forum because I'm a noob myself. There are some great individuals on here with more than enough knowledge.
PS: Although I have yet to get my hands on a factory manual for a 78 KZ1000B2, I hear they come in very handy whenever you need to work on them. I see police bike manuals on ebay all the time.

I did a quick wash with some S100 and it looks a whole lot better, just didn't take any more photos. Plan on using some sort of polish on the paint, and some steel wool on the chrome, as time permits.
It runs pretty good for not having been started in over a year. I dumped the gas that was in it, put in some clean gas with carb cleaner stuff. Sounds pretty good. Seems to have a sticky clutch release when I shift into 2nd. Rear brake is not working properly, it doesn't slow the bike at all. Forks are in need of some air, and most likely a rebuild kit too. I will check into that later.
Everything else works fine. Just wish they would have left the siren on...lol.
