Hey all:
I've been hanging around this site for the last month or so, gleaning KZ info in anticipation of buying this (1979 KZ 1000 LTD).
Well, I pulled the trigger yesterday. This is my 20th bike and first Kawi.
I took a short ride yesterday, and what a "hoot" to ride. I love the sound of the old Kawi's. She needs a new seat and a little TLC, but otherwise is in pretty good shape.

Thanks all.
The Saddlemans seat cover arrived in the mail today, and I just installed it.
The end product is not really photo-worthy but should work well for the time being. It does look a lot better than what I had.
Next up on the list: PKZ1 fuel petcock and a new chain.

Welcome to KZR! Make sure you check your sprockets for wear! Worn out sprockets can destroy a new chain real fast!

Appreciate that.
The sprockets look surprising good with little to no sign of wear.
Went for a short ride today (first time in six months after recovering from a broken hip).
Whoo Hoo!!! Much fun.
