Welcome aboard! Step 1 - buy a Kawasaki factory service manual; you can find them on eBay. Be sure to get one for your exact year/model. You will find the manual to be the best investment you'll ever make. Good luck with the "new" bike. Ed

Welcome to the KZ Jungle.
Do yourself a favor and listen to 650ed, he's spot on about the manual.

Welcome fdj! As has been mentioned, find a genuine Kawasaki shop manual...eBay is a good source for a used manual and they should be had and delivered for less than US$40.00. There are some KZR members from the OK area so I'll let them answer about shops...HOWEVER, you'll find that the majority of us have become failrly adept at working on our own scooters. This is because most shops don't have a clue how to work on these antiques (which they are) nor know where to obtain parts...do not fear...we do
