I noticed your engine has the "Smog Head", the two ports need to be connected together with a hose, otherwise stuff might get sucked into the engine.

One of the first things I did thanks to the information on this site. Use some thick walled PVC tubing.

Couldn't wait any longer. Nice and sunny so out on the road and around the block I went. What a great bike this KZ platform is. I can see why they made them for soooooo long.

So I got tired and cross-eyed looking at all the options for mirrors on my little build. Decided to just make some myself at a cost of $3 total. They don't look like $300 Rizoma's but they do the job just as well. They also kind of go with the Rat/Cafe look I wanted.

They are made out of 3/16" plate with a 1" angle attached with the normal squeezed rubber inside the bar. The mirror's were bought at the dollar store and attached with Shoe-Goo.

Cheers.

DONE!!!!:rockon:rockon:rockon

For now. I don't see this bike ever really being finished, more of a work in progress but for now it's done.

Last bit of work complete now. Rims painted, wheel bearings changed, new rubber, turn signals, adjust the clutch, re-do on the tail, new chain, new sprockets, new old horn, grips and mirrors, adjust the gear selector linkage and of course some stickers from FTWCO Wrenchmonkees and Church of Choppers.

Big thanks to Kelly at BigTop in the wack for all the help getting a lot deals for me and to Dale for letting him. And of course the wife for getting me the bike for my 40th birthday some months ago.

Can't wait for bike night to get here.

Cheers

They would if they were not on the lowest setting. The age of the seat shocks, the fact I lowered the front about an inch (which made the angle of seat too upright) allow the seat to sit right on the frame rails. You do notice some movement in the seat going over bumps. Just a little character.

Don't want to jinx anything but the build looks to be over. Bike runs great now with new coils and some carb adjustments. I installed today a battery ground switch to make sure the old wires don't start a fire while I'm away from the bike. Also ripped out the battery box and made an under seat tray that holds all the electrics. Looks a lot cleaner like this and lends for some more air movement. Some new pics.

Well I got bored this week and decided to 'cafe' my little bike some. Got rid of the spring saddle and made a bit of a cafe seat. I also put on some clip-on's and dumped the drag bars. While I was at it I lost the floor boards and made some rear sets out of some 6mm aluminium stock a friend provided.

Not sure if I'm going to keep it this way, the springer seat and floor boards added some character. hmmm, we'll see.
