'79 KZ650B3 - Current Project
Official KZ convert :) was created by kzconvert_86
Hey guys, been riding motorcycles since before I could walk, and have always loved KZ as it was my first bike. Nothing like your first right? At any rate, last year I happened to be in a bike graveyard looking for a fairing for another bike when I stumbled across my current project: 79' KZ650B3, only 9983 original miles on the motor. Man she was in bad shape to begin with, but for $100 bucks, who could say no?
As my restoration has progressed, I have used this site many times to look up various tid bits here and there, and just want to thank all you knowledgeable folk out there for taking the time to share your experience and know-how.
Also wanted to post a pic of how she looks after sitting in a junk yard for 20 some odd years. Please post any questions/comments/criticism/etc, love to hear what you guys think! If I get time, I'll try to find the pics of what she looked like when I got her home the first day, but for now:

And yes, I know, no exhaust yet!

Great job. I love to see these great bikes given a second life.

You do NICE work! It's one of those bikes I'd stop and look over if I saw it parked somewhere because everything looks like it's been put together with TLC.
The engine looks GREAT!!

 , so true! It was originally black (at least I thought it was, WAAY faded paint) when I got it, I just wish I had been able to save the blue pinstrips on the tank and rear fairing!!
Oh well, now I just want to RIDE!! Almost done tuning it, threw on the exhaust yesterday. Needs a little more tweaking, but I'll post pics of the final product when I get a chance. Thanks for all your comments guys, I appreciate it!
