newbie here just found this site.i don't know alot about bikes but i know what i want.ive restored many 60's musclecars and drag raced for along time.in the late 70's when i was heavy into street racing,i remember the new kz1000's,i don't know the exact model or year but it was lite blue and had kind of a square tank,thats the bike im looking for,can someone please tell me the year and model im looking for, it would be a great help. thanks

thats it,love it.back in the late 70's i lived in houston,tx and we used too street race our cars on westhiemer every fri,sat night,every once in awhile we'd run up against 1 of these,they were the hot bike back then,those were the days.

Very few were turbo's and you couldn't buy them that way from Kawasaki...a third-party vendor converted a number of them (they didn't sell as well as Kawasaki wanted so there was a surplus of unsold 1978 Z1Rs). In fact, they sold so poorly, the model was never released in 1979 in North America.
