well, here's the bike as of last night:

completely taken apart, sandblasted the frame but needs finishing and most of the other part going to powder coating are also sandblated :)

so going forward, I will start a new tread for the rebuilding part :)

WOW, you move quick! I wish I could do that with mine. I've had it for a month and have only ordered parts for it so far. I've put 1,000 miles on it in the 3 weeks that I've ridden it, but I would love to be able to strip it all the way down and rebuild it. Hope you have a blast making it the way you want it to be.

Ok, thanks for your advice!

I am always checking eBay lol I drive a 1st Generation Toyota 4runner, the one that is convertible, so I get parts either on eBay or on yotatech.com from other forum members as they are"kinda" rare nowadays.
When we both had out Ninjas I got most of my stuff online as well and some at out local bike shop/salvage yard as we are pretty good friends with the owner :)
BTW, he sells all over the US and has tons of parts:

and yes, I'm very pleased about the way our project is coming along :)

Anytime a frame gets powdercoated or painted, most people are in a rush to put it together & get on the road. An overlooked step in re-assembly is taking a M6 X 1 metric tap and clean out the many ground points for the chassis grounds from the wiring harness.

If not done, this can lead to intermittant/or greatly reduced operation of the electrical system(dim lights, slow flashing turn signals and possible battery charging problems).

I forgot to mention when re-installing the engine, the area where the battery Negative(-) cable goes to should be free of paint/powdercoat too, as it's part of the electrical system. I've found that a thin layer of the silver anti-seize will prevent corrosion at that place, but still allow a good electrical connection.

If you don't have one yet, here's websites for shop manuals:

www.repairmanual.com (They sell used manuals now and then)
www.manualsnmore.com
www.midwestmanuals.com/
www.books4cars.com/
www.repairmanualclub.com/motomanuals/
moto-manuals.com/

I have more trust in Kawasaki factory shop manuals than in the Clymer,Chilton,& Haynes ones.

ok, will def. take a look at them!
I know usually we get the clymer's manual for cars and bikes but I'm thinking you can't go wrong going direct to the manufacturer :)
