Its back to life!!! I got home last saturday with my recent purchase a 78 kz650 it had been sitting since 1988 bought a battery and checked for spark. It has brand new points, condenser and plate but it had a bad coil, so I cleaned the carbs and waited on a coil. Tank was clean so it flushed out easy and I replaced the fuel lines picked up a used coil and tried starting it tonight. It fired right up all I had to do is set the throttle up to keep it from dying at low speed. After a couple of minutes it slowly rose in idle so I backed it down about where it was to start with and now it sounds awesome. I drove it around the block in a lite rain and everything seems to be tight and working better than I could have hoped! Thanks to eveyone who helped with the carb questions as this is my first time working on a bike. I will take it out in the morning for a good ride the tire on the front has signs of checking a little so I will watch it and the back I think was brand new at sometime near parking and looks good. I was waiting to get it running to see what I had before putting any money in it. I will post again tommorrow Thanks again to everyone!

Your bike is lookin' good. Glad to hear you got her running so easily after sitting for 23 years; KZ650's are bullet proof. Ed
