1981 KZ750 LTD
Hi, Kz750 sitting in my garage! my first bike. was created by ironslave
Hey everyone.
I got a 1981 kz750 LTD and I know barely anything about it. It was running rough when I got it and when I got home the carbs were not fully installed to the front boots. So I took them off and cleaned them and now it runs decently. It idles low when cold and high when warm. it's got a bad paint job and it needs some electrical fixing.
Here are some things I am wondering about it.
the first thing I need to find is a factory service manual.
The front turn signal light on the right gets in the way of the brake master cylinder, it covers the light a little and it does not clamp down flat. I can only assume thit is not a stock master cylinder. Can I get lights that mount on the forks?
the rear light are loose fitting and I am unsure if it is because he had a backrest installed.
The automatic turn signal does not work. the lights just keep blinking, how does this thing even work?
The horn does not work or there is no horn or both. I found 2 wires stuffed up under the tank by the triple tree and I think they might go to the nonexsistant horn.
Where does one find accesories for this bike? it's old so none of the websites ive tried can give me exact fit items. I want to put in a small backrest or sissy bar to hang gear o, saddle bags, A headlight viso,r and a few other things but I need to figure out how to find it first.

I found a manual for my KZ440
here.
There are also wiring diagrams to help with the blinker issue, etc. Also,
I check out OEM parts here.
BUT I usually revert to ebay and can find things at one third the price, might be a little rough around the edges but no worries there.
As far as seats and such go, depending on the bike's condition and size you can install things fairly easily with some customization.

Welcome!
For a lot of us eBay is a source of used and NOS parts and manuals. It can be a craps shoot at times although I've had pretty good luck over the years, moreso buying than selling.
Be sure to post some pics of it now. It may not look like much now but you'll want to see "before and after" when you're further along in your project.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAssuming your bike is a 4 cylinder 1981 KZ750 it is a KZ750-H2. Offer this eBayer $30; he's offering free shipping so that would be an excellent deal. Ed
