My bother and I were at a IDBA race in bowling green ohio (spring 1976) where we saw a 970 cc honda turbo for the first time . there was no class for the turbo so IDBA made it run against the top fuelers. the Honda turbo made it all the way to the final round and lost by inches , against ray price on a harley fueler.
needless to say we were both hooked on the turbos. we bought 2 atp turbo kits for $925 each. one for my honda and one for my brothers 75 Z1.....soon after I upgraded to a 76 kz 900 that I bought wrecked. been hooked on z's since. z's are like the small block chevy of motorcycles , So I still have a soft spot for the kawasaki's Z series.
I want to do a suspension upgrade on one old 1428 turbo that I have. I have a donor front and rear suspension from a 900 rr that I'm thinking of grafting to it. I look forward to any help, tips, info that i can glean from all the experienced people on KZR.

no chassis mods on the mk ll as I really don't want to hack it all up. I still have all the stock parts/wheels in case I ever decide to off it.............

Wheres that barn? :woohoo:Kitten Tooth wrote: I like turbo KZs. First one i ever saw was sitting in a barn all dusty with flat tires. I've always wondered how much the guy wanted for it. All i knew about it was the top end was toast and needed some work.. honing, rings, gaskets, and head machining. I guess the PO let it sit for 5 years and didn't store it very well at all. He stuck a battery in it one day and ran all the life out of it with one really big pull of the throttle right after it fired up. I dont wanna sound like a dummy, but did the turbo charged models come from Kawasaki with turbos installed, or are the turbochargers an aftermarket setup?
When Im up there in a couple weeks we'll make a road trip!
