Just joined and I am amazed at how many KZ fanatics out there. Very Cool. I have a 1976 KZ900A4 in Diamond Brown. My dad bought it in 1977 and I fell in love with it right then. Finally talked him out of it by the mid 90's and have had it ever since. Been sitting in the garage for a couple years now. Rusty gas tank, Gummed carbs, etc. So I am starting a new adventure of learning how to get it running again. Looking forward to any advice/tips that can be found or that comes my way. Will upload some pics soon. Take it easy!

Welcome to the site. I would suggest getting a genuine factory service manual specific to your model. You won't regret it.

Thanks for the welcome and tips guys. I do have a Clymers manual but don't have a genuine factory one yet. Will look for one today. I started last night. Removed the gas tank and started cleaning it. More rust than anticipated. Petcock and feedlines/filter completely blocked with hard sticky gunk. Can't believe it got this bad in just a few years. And yes I will definately upload pics along the way. Forgot to take any last night, but will tonite.

welcome along Lance, quite rare is the brown z9, everybody opts for the green paint, i like the brown myself. enjoy the rebuild.

Wow your fathers bike....... I can't think of anything cooler then that! I would sure like to see some pictures and follow along as you get it running.

Best of luck, and you have come to the right place for assistance.

Regards,

Brad
