My friends call me Stereo. I do audio engineering, audio production, and recording, working towards a bachelors in Audio Broadcasting and engineering. If I can keep from getting kicked out of college every other semester, I might actually finish my degree before I'm 30! :silly:
Been riding for several years but just pulled the trigger on getting a bike a few days ago (my dad got hit several years back on his 99 Shadow, kinda turned me off of two wheels for a while). I picked up a '76 KZ400 with 11k miles for $500 bucks... Seemed like a deal to me, but the engine might need more work than I anticipated. So it goes, eh?
Anyways, just wanted to say hi. Pretty sweet theres a forum dedicated to KZ's! Looking forward to learning lots o stuff from ya'll.

She does! No idle, wouldn't rev past 4k, and a biotch to start when I picked her up, but after new plugs, fuel filter, some carb adjustments, a little bit of wiring work, shes firing up perfectly with smooth idle and good throttle response! Took me some hair pulling to figure out the wiring fiasco, but all seems to be looking up... for now, anyways!Mcdroid wrote: Welcome Stereo...does the new family member run?
Almost got to take her out for a ride in her improved condition, but blew my main fuse trying to rig up the starter button. It was too late and I had a few (read: several) beers anyways, so I'll get to it this afternoon.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

edit: Here she is! Dufus friend included. Actually, many thanks to this guy for checking the bike with me before purchase and letting me use his car to trailer my sweet baby home!
I've removed the chrome bits except for the exhaust and rear fender. Next body mods will be a seat, tank, flat black everything I can, hopefully move the battery and other electrical stuff? I'm going for a beater cafe look for the summer, and plan to bob it when snow time hits. Thoughts? Any suggestions for cleaning up or hiding the batter and wiring?

Sounds awesome! I need to get my license and my bike in order, but maybe I'll swing by and scope it out this week.
