I had the Dunlop 404 on my Z1. They seemed to look more period correct for some reason.
But I replaced them with a cheap set of Shinko 712s and could not believe how much better the grip is on the Shinkos. It gives you much more confidence going into turns. I believe the Avons are an upgrade on the Shinkos.

I like the seat. Where'd you get it?
I would like the change the seat I have on my LTD, to a lower sleek cafe style like yours, but I have worries about the frame and seat pan shape. Did you use the original seat pan? My frame goes up at an angle in the very back section there, so i'm not so sure a real flat seat will work. Do you know if or which KZ frames are the same or similar back there?
Thanks.

not sure if your talking about my seat if you are it's the original seat for the 1976 kz900 A4. Was a perfect original seat till my son sat on it with his belt on backwards And put a tiny hole in it.RiderRandy wrote: Grumpy ol Artist,

I certainly dig your ride though. Looks to me very similar style to a triple. You'd probably be able to find a new stock seat no problem. I'm trying to change my seat, which is this big two seater thing, to something smaller.
Thanks,
RR
Edit: wasn't hijacking this thread. Great discussion on tires. Im running the bridgstone spitfire 130/90 rear. Tried to get a quality road tire and fits fine. No complaints but I just started riding. Total newb.
