I have acquired a 81 kz 305 csr.
I've been trying to search this forum for mods and inspiration but there just doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there or I'm just not using the correct keywords. Are there better places to look? Everyone seems to have larger models or sport bikes so I'm curious if the 305 is a sentimental or something worth riding.

Welcome Joewwy.
Not a lot of KZ305 CSRs around, compared to the larger KZs.
The KZ400 is a similar sized ride, but not sure how much in common they have.
A good site for them here;
www.kz400.com/

Hello, Joewwy, and WELCOME to KZr!
The following link should open KZr's gallery for KZ305:
Click here > www.kzrider.com/gallery/2013-11-19-08-54-02/kz305
If not already done, would suggest doing a Forum search using keywords KZ305.
Good Fortune!

You actually have a relatively rare motorcycle...not many were sold and they were introduced at the end of the run for the KZ line. Of those that are left, the current trend is to permanently convert them (= dead-end motorcycle) to bobbers. That may be what you are planning...but I am of a more purist mindset
