KN700 Newbie

This was one of those so called factory choppers or customs. I don't like the way they look as far as the back of the bike is concerned. However, a search has shown me some people have actually made decent looking bikes out of the KN.
I'm not sure where I want to go with this bike. I've never done a cafe. I know it won't make a true high performace cafe but I don't ride that fast anyway. It has shaft drive so I won't be able to do much about the rear gearing anyway. I've seen at least one decent "bobber".
I'll go through the carbs and make sure it's running good befoe I do anything else to it.

Thinking the bike model at hand is a ZN700-A2 (LTD Shaft).

There was also a KZ700 (not KN) and those had standard styling & chain drive.
A ZN brought back to nice condition is kind of a neat looking bike... it sorta reminds me of a Power Cruiser (if there is such a thing. hee). When you go to resell it, there is a large Vulcan & Cruiser market out there, so you might be able to generate some interest.

I found some pictures of the same model where the owners have lowered their bikes in the rear. Getting rid of that huge space between the tire and rear fender. Of course saddle bags go a long way to cover up that area.
These bikes look OK but mine is in such bad shape, it's hard to imagine anything as far as looks go.
I removed the gas tank and what was left of the back rest/tailight. Someone had cut these off.
There was only an MX mono shock holding the bike up. I scored some original air shocks cheap. These can hold the bike up while I'm working on it.
