remember to watch the front wheels of cars around you.they are your first indication of what the car is going to do next.
that bike is just as mean as they we're back when, but drivers are more disconnected than they we're back then.
so,
ride like you are invisible .
thanks for posting your bike is awesome.

Too bad the speedo got dinged.
There is a former member from this site, sold a lot of stuff on ebay years ago.
I think his name was Bob. He restores gauges. And quiet well too! He has a website. ?? He could take your speedo apart, put all your guts into a different shell that's not dinged and you would not no the difference.
I am sure someone will reply to this post. There has been members on here that have had his work done on their gauges.
That's if your even interested.
But Drive Safe and enjoy it! I went through a couple of LTD's back then. I had one all blacked out, lowered 4-1 pipe and a disc in the front wheel for drag racing it at the local track.

A few minor scratches, but pretty close to perfect. It will get the royal treatment no expense spared restoration it deserves.
Unbelievable find. I rode many miles with one just like that back in the late 70's. Brings back some good memories.

dennisarner wrote: Center stand? Can I simply bolt on a regular 1977 KZ1000 centerstand?
If the 1977 KZ1000 LTD frame has center-stand tabs -- like the KZ900 LTD that came only with a side stand -- the regular model center-stand should bolt on. Will also require the bolt, nut and spring. Probably need to fashion a "stop" when the stand isn't deployed to avoid hitting the drive chain. The "stop" isn't needed where the center-stand is attached only for maintenance and is never attached while riding.
If a 4>1 exhaust system is fitted, the center-stand will protrude when not deployed, whether riding or with bike on the side-stand. The protrusion may be deemed unsightly.
Good Fortune!
