looks like a good site . glad to be apart of it ..just got my 78 kz 650..gotta get her up and road ready .. i,m sure i can get a little help here .. she runs a little ..well a lot sluggish .. not much in power .. gonna tune up... plugs and clean points..it would not start ..pulled a plug wire off and it started ...something crossed there .. have to find pictures of wiring .. but thanks for letting me in .. i,m sure with a little knowhow from u guys i,ll be riding in no time...

Factory service manual will not only include the diagram you need, but countless other procedures and diagrams you can and prob will need... Plus its got cool pictures, and most are quite "vintage" in appearance, which makes a good coffee table piece!
EBay, or possibly you can find a link to your specific model for an online version if you prefer....
Just make sure to get the service manual that covers your exact model....

Is it possible the plug is fouled on the cylinder you removed the woire from? Or was it an electrical wire and not the actual plug wire?

Check your valve clearances. They're often neglected and can cost a bundle if left for too long.
