Its a 1994 KZ1000P. It isn't perfect, but very nice for the age and mileage (~72,000). It belonged to the Santa Barbara Police Department up until a few years ago. The previous owner was in the process of converting it into a LAPD bike, and it has most of the lights and sirens off. The only real thing it needs is a new battery (if you don't leave it charging, the battery will die in a few days). There are some small wiring issues but nothing too major.
Not sure of what my plans are for the bike. I've owned it for about 2 weeks and have only done about 100 miles- mostly because I'm a college student and don't have much time!
Looking forward to reading the forums and asking a bunch of questions!
Michael

I think you'll really like it once you get used to it. You may wan to lose the extra seat and box until you need them.
Oh, and the side bags will hold two six packs each

Can't wait to start working on this thing and take it on some longer rides. Thanks for the tip about the six packs :woohoo:

I'm thinking about making mine into that style of bike- any more pictures or details would be greatly appreciated!

That's a great looking bike, seems like it'd be quite a project though! I've seem differing opinions on oil coolers. I love the look and the idea of them, but some say they'll prevent the oil from reaching normal operating temps fast enough.

The fairing is a Maier but Airtech makes a better one. The fenders are Airtech. They make body specific for the KZP.
Engine wise had a Wiesco 1075 piston kit installed. Completely had the top end rebuilt. Trans was fine.
Pipes are Macs straights. Hate the turn out version.
The usual rubber replacement.
I hate chrome so eventually it will all be blacked out.
Seat is too wide for my narrow ass but is comfortable. I have 4 alternatives to mod and/or play with including a Corbin GF.
Its a surf checker and occasional PCH runner. Starts like a new bike.
