One thing i could use so help on is that when the front tire is straight with the bike the gauges pods, headlight and handlebars are pointed a little off to the left. Here's a few pic's:

I always find it curious why an otherwise stock bike has pod filters on it. ...To me, it means a poor running bike.
I hope yours is running well.
Oh, straddle your front tire facing to the back of the bike, grab your bars, and give good wrench in the direction to straighten the twist on your forks. That should do it.
Otherwise you will need to loosen the pinch bolts on your tripleclamps slightly and align. Its a simple procedure.
And welcome!

O.K. great , thanks for the info. .. I remember years ago doing that adjustment on my bicycles:) - had no idea motorcycles were the same.
As far as the pods i never got to talk to the actual owner just his father in law who was selling the bike for him. ... they were on the bike when i got it, I took the carbs off to disassemble and clean everything and I'm glad i did - idle mix screws were crazy 2.5/ 4/ 5.5/and one was like 8 turns out! but worse than that the sync between the throttle valves was crazy off. I benched synced them and she runs crazy strong. .. i can't get over how much fun and how fast this bike is!
one other thing that i can't seem to figure out is the pic on the shop manual that i have and all the LTD's that i've seen all have a grab type handle at the rear of the seat and mine doesn't. also there is a hole and a locating pin for something back by the rear tailights and i can't figure out what goes there. pic's :

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.
