I'm sure that there'll be plenty of folks with suggestions bout how to bring an old KAW back to life. Reading your post I'm pretty sure you already know most of 'em. At the risk of stating the obvious, I'd pull the plugs and squirt a little Marvel Mystery Oil into each cylinder then crank it, with the plugs still out.

I would add checking the valve lash to your pre-start list. It is a very important and often neglected maintenance item. Checking it on the KZ is in no significant way different from checking on your ZRX. The adjustment is a little more involved since there are no rockers, but it is not really difficult. If you don't have a factory service manual, get one. There might be one you can download from this site.
Oh yes, please post pictures. Most folks here are picaholics. Maybe because we can't read. :whistle:

Before you make it go, make sure it'll stop. After sitting for a decade +, brakes will need much TLC.
