Hey all.
Only just stumbled across this forum so I thought I mayaswell get around it. At the start of the year I bought my first road bike, a 1981 KZ650. I've ridden dirt bikes previously but not much on the road. At the time I bought the bike I did not realise but I still had my restricted license and was not able to legally ride the bike, so I thought I would turn it into a bit of a project. Something I've always dreamed of doing, so I went for it. I know a lot of people will be disapointed that i'll be "chopping up a classic" etc etc. but each to their own hey.
I've always really digged the brat looking bikes so thats the look i'm going for. The bike ran really well when I bought it which was a plus (considering 90xxx kms)
Every thing that i'll be doing to the bike is something I haven't done before so the entire thing is a big learning curve for me. (and a lot of fun)
It has blown me away the amount of hours that I've put into it already, definitely i've learnt to respect guys with immaculate or highly modded bikes/cars.

I picked up my seat from the upholster today as did I paint the engine (cheated and rattle canned it:P ) Later this week ill be picking up the rest of the parts from the powdercoater and then I've gotta remember how it all goes back together!

I've put together a few videos on youtube tracking the build, got one almost finished for the seat and the engine paint too!

Thanks all,
Kyle
