Just a few short words to say "hello". I am a long time motorcycle rider and retired LEO who rode motors for quite a few years. I retired from my real job in 2006 and since then have been teaching police officers how to properly ride police motorcycles. Great job by the way. I have spent the last 14 years or so riding BMWs'and currently own a K1600 GTL. For many years before that I rode Harley-Davidsons. I started riding motorcycles when I was about 18 which is now about 49 (!!!) years ago! In 1975 after owning a few motorcycles I broke down and bought a 1975 Z-1 900 brand new from a dealer that was going out of business. I loved that bike with all my heart, but I also had 4 other bikes at the time. I got married in 1977 and had to sell my motorcycles to help support my wife and I as she was going to college. I have always desired buying a 1975 Z again, but never did. After doing some research I have decided to buy a 1976 KZ900 in the future as a "fun" bike in my old age. I look forward to learning much from this forum as I want to install a few things on my future purchase, which is in the process of a full restoration, such as dual front disc brakes and a few other items. The bike will remain basically stock save for the dual front brakes as that is how I prefer and remember them. I did install a dual front brake setup on my 1975 Z and it worked terrifically for me back in the day. That's about it for now, thanks!
