Ha ha yes the small island with a lot of rain and 165 million cups of tea drunk daily! I'm Luke and what got me into zeds? Two things 1. My uncle stu, a very cool guy and over the years he ran many z1a's b's 900s 1000s, when your 5 or 6 and your uncle rumbles up the drive on a z1 it leaves a big impression and 2. When I was 12 the same uncle stu leant me mad max on vhs and although a bit on the violent side for a 12 year old the Toe cutter gang and Jim goose's "kwaka" are still as good as it gets I think I'm not a rich person and even a rough late 70s z1000 is now beyond £4500 about $7400 and forget about a 900! So five years ago I found a 1980 1000st for £1700 and I've labored on it ever since and spent probably £1500 so far! Right now the clutch is broken but I'll be sorting that shortly

Welcome. Nice transformation. Your getting better. The recent picture is the right side up but still multiple copies... I’d say thats an half full cup not half empty!

Hi Sheith, another Brit here, used to live near Warren, now near kings lyn, had a couple of well used Zed myself, didn't dampen my love for them got a tidy non stock one now, took a while to get it. Just keep plugging away at it.

Hey mikaw and kevski, thanks for liking the old bike there's so many things I like about these zeds but one of the things I like the most is out on a big bike run I come across plenty of xjr 12 and 1300s plus bandit 12's and the odd cb1300 and gsx1400 and acceleration wise the old zed still puts up a good fight, of course ultimately the new retro bikes will out top end the zed but I can't help feeling proud of the bike as it howls along, kind of like a heavyweight boxer who's still as good in the ring now as he was 40 years ago!
