One small tip, point your mouse pointer under any Quoted post and look for the red line, then click the arrow and get the cursor below the red line, otherwise your post will show up inside the "quote."
I haven't found a way to do this using a phone, though. Software glitch, I'd say.
Also, when posting photos, click "Insert All" before posting, that way the photos show up in full size, instead of thumbnails.
Oh, and it's mandatory for all new members to post photos of their bike(s). No excuses or you will be expelled! (just kidding)

Welcome to the site from always gloomy Illinois. I was born in England but didn't spend enough time there to learn any manners!
Thanks for the welcome and don't worry about the manners, it's never too late

That's a very nice-looking bike. The 400s in the North American market were all twins (AFAIK) but I like a small-bore four-cylinder.
Not sure I've ever seen a bike with dual front discs and a drum rear - that's interesting.

From what I've seen the braking was a bit of a European thing and it works surprisingly well but every day is a school day if anyone knows better I'm keen to learn. That engine is as sweet as a nut, Ive been looking for a small capacity bike for a while now and was looking at the GT550 and GT750 Shaft drives originally but this was too good to pass up.Welcome aboard!

I have wondered if the twin disc setup was a fashion thing, doing it because the other manufacturers did it. I have heard of Mikuni and Kehein but not of TK which you must have noticed from the pictures.I'm not planning on opening them up as long as theyre working but well spotted and thanks for the heads up.First welcome to the fun! Second I agree that some of the European markets did require dual front disks. I know this it certain for some of the (K)Z 650s. Third you have found a great looking Z, Will add that it appears parts for the TK carbs are not as easily available as Mikuni and Kehin parts are,

I'd refurbish the carbs and replace all the O-rings and gaskets, and make sure the flaps are okay. You can stake the pin, and use some epoxy to hold it in place to assure no future issues.
