Header for Z1 with a KZ1000 motor was created by shifterkart26
Greetings all,
Just got the bike back from a engine rebuild and upgrade at Rob's Motorcycle Repair. BTW, Rob is a master Kaw builder. My Yoshi header makes it impossible to change the oil filter without removing the header..
What is the best header system for performance and oil change convenience? Please add photos if you have them. Thank you for your help!!!

Beautiful Work! Is the pipe coated with a  "JET HOT COAT" or CERAKOTE type ceramic?
By the looks of this picture? I don't think you're on a tight budget! SO!
Let me spend your money!
#1 Buy a new retro chrome KERKER! Made by the  "Samson" Harley pipe peole!
#2 Change out the LTD seat to the new lower cafe seat, very popular now!
#3 Add the chrome grab bar!
I will say! 95% of these folks here will agree with me!
Here is a pic of seat with grab bar. I sold this bike last year before I could paint it, this is primer.
(*Note*) this is a ground out near bolt from someone? modifying "V" ?? notched grab bar??  from Matt Mikaw, put to good use!  And the left side cover form MikeZ1. And the rear fender from Greg J. See!  We can all get along!  Now who has some old vintage Harley Iron Head Sportster parts?

I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.

I put a Delkevic stainless exhaust system on my 77' KZ 1000 LTD. They have clearance to change the oil and use the the center stand. I have the same seat but like it without the grab bar so I put the small grab handles on.

I like the Delvic as well. Looked and sounds sweet for reasonable money

I also went with a Delkevic.  Would have liked to keep using my Kerker (from 1980) but I guess those old Kerkers only last about 40 years.

How does it compare sound and performance wise?

Haven't run it with the Delkevic yet still have to clean the carbs and replace the tires.  From what I've heard, the sound is similar to the older Kerkers but a little louder.  I ran my Kerker with the regular baffle but no packing, so I'm assuming it will sound about the same. Looking forward to finding out.

You can't replicate the sound of a Kerker, but the devic does sound nice.

I do not know if this will be of any help or not, but there is a past topic here full of info on headers. There used to be many great pics but many of them have been removed at some point in the past. There is info related to size, length, oil change access and  sound ect. that may be worth it to take a look at
