Crimeny!
Number 472 was probably produced in Sept, 1972. But I don't get why it's painted in '74 colors. Has it been repainted?

Obviously a gorgeous bike....I sitll have some of the side covers sitting around but if you decide not to fix it up....you could always make it look ike this...LOL

That is mostly a 74 Z1A with a a temporary set of 73 heads till I get teh 74 heads redone....in an Amen Saviour frame and a Paughco front end....

Welcome and keep us posted!!

I bought the mike used in Jan. 1974 1st. Owner was the wife of a Kaw dealership. She put the bike down on a off ramp and put a dent in the tank,
so they put 74 colors on it. other then that it's all sort of original.
I really should get it out, it's bin a couple of years now sense it's bin
on the road.
I had no idea the bike was made in 72. but i guess it makes sense they
don't manufacture and sell on the same day.

Id just about kill for my stock pipes back. They went out in the trash
30 some years ago.

Blade:
Your Z1 looks real good in the photo. Definitely worth restoring, in my opinion. Finding original pipes won't be easy (or cheap).

Appreciate the info. So I'm guessing for $450 I didn't get hurt much.
After looking at all the streetfighter KZ customs lately, I kinda wished I would have purchased one of those instead, in no disrespect. Pretty Cool Mini Z1
