Saving a '81 KZ750-E

After doing some more searching I found a guy on Ebay selling copies in all aluminum.  Measurements match, so for $20 I am going to give it a try.  I will report back on the fitment after I get the part in hand.

Those O-rings are flat as a pancake.  I suspect that's the source of the leakage.  Are you sure the Tee is cracked?  That mark looks more like a scratch in the photo.  Regardless, though, that new Tee should fix things up.

Those were new Buna o-rings when I rebuilt the carbs, what, a year and a half ago?  6 miles on the clock so far.  Working out the bugs as I go.  Very close to an actual break in, though. 

BTW, I love the Johnny Quest avatar!  My favorite cartoon from my youth.  More so than the standards, like bugs and the road runner.

It not a crack,it´s a cut. Some one cut off the old fuel line and cut into the fuel-t rubber. Nessism is right, those O-rings needs to be replaced.

I leak tested the part by putting two neoprene plugs in the ends, put some dish soap on it, and blew compressed air into the fuel line end.  Bubbles.  Definitely leaks.  I have to agree with Scirocco's assessment, though.  It does look like a razorblade slice.  That cut may have facilitated the crack by introducing a stress riser to the part.  Either way it needs replacing.  Thanks, guys.

Still some fine tuning on the list, and the break in left to do.  We are finally seeing some decent (upper 40's) weather with clear roads in the next few days.  Once I get it dialed, the unfortunate decision is this girl is going to need to leave the stable.  As much as this has been a dream build of mine, I won't be able to keep her.  Too many other things, or factors, are playing into this decision.  Super happy I was able to save this one from the scrap heap.

After countless times of pulling the carbs off, I finally have these CV carbs running right.  She idles great, and has a real snappy throttle response.  No more leaks, dribbles, stutters, or pops.  Now it's riding time!  This girl needs to be broken in.  Then I need to figure out how to post a video...

And I failed.  I guess I have to reduce the video file size.  The video format is MP4, which is not an acceptable file format on here.  Sooo...  it's too large and the wrong format.  Where are my kids when I need them!  

I got 30 miles in today.  Sounds great, the Delkavik exhaust is a bit loud, but it does sound nice!  I haven't been in the wind for some time.  It was almost magical.  I can't wait to get the break in finished so I can really see what she does...
