I took a guess at how close to the corner of the bracket the coil had to be.  No real way to measure under the tank.  Lucky beats good every day of the week!  Still some more trimming required to remove excess material, but this will work.  They will end up glass bead blasted and painted with the engine paint.

Took a break from the heat (and smoke from the wild fires) and found an unexpected package in the mail.  It was from the original owner of my bike, whom has been a friend for over 40 years.  Turns out he found the original tool tray in his garage!  Nice surprise!!  No tool kit, but hey...  it made my day none the less!

The one part I had hoped he would find is the metal battery hold down bracket.  After gutting his garage that part was not to be found.  If anyone has a source, or an extra laying around hit me up!

Both brackets fit, but man that isn't a lot of room!  Now they come back out for blasting and painting.

Hahaha!  Yeah, when you make custom brackets, it's in and out several times before final assembly.  I haven't bought my plug wires yet, let alone finish cleaning up the wiring harness. But things are coming down to the wire!  Not too many things left to purchase before she is ready to pop for the first time.

I’ve tried cleaning up my harness. I’ve tried contact cleaner small brushes and such. Looks good from 10ft. I’ll be watching to pick up pointers and techniques.

Rotating the coils into a 45 degrees upside down position gives you more space for the ignition cable routing.

I have gotten mine better than it was, but that isn't saying much.  It's the contacts that concern me.  The bullet connectors are pretty clean, but some of the multi spade connectors have corrosion that needs to be cleaned.  Cosmetically the harness is going to look 40 years old.  Not much to watch on that front, I'm afraid...

Thank you. I’m looking to detail mine. All of the connections are pretty clean. Some of the friction tape is frayed, the wires are greasy/dirty in places. There is dirt/grime inside some bullet connector insulation covers, and some of the multi spade connectors are yellowed. Was hoping I could just follow the big dogs advice. Carry on, looking good!!!
