I don't think there is any way to tell the bore size from the bottom but if you can get a look at the taper on the liner to see if it's been bored it will likely be bored to 1015 cc.  But you will get a look at the tranny and you can pull the oil pump.  See the photo below for what it looks like with the pan off.

If the engine was never run you could probably pull the head off without damaging the gaskets.  

 

Thanks HRM, the cam cover was a PITA to get off. I’d assume the head would be a similar experience. Do you think if I pulled the oil pump id be able to get an outside caliper on the outside of the liner. Then size the wall of the liner and subtract that from the liner OD? That should give me an about size It should be pretty obvious to tell the difference between 66mm and 72mm. It might even be 1105, 73mm. The seller said he remembered his dad saying it was bored to 1100. 

I don't know how large you can go on OEM liners.  I have a set that are now 1015 and the taper on the bottom is pretty much gone.

I don't remember what you can see from the bottom.  That's why I posted the photo.  My guess is that there is too much in the way to get a really good look.

You might want to reconsider.  How many stories here have you read here, where someone pickup up someone else's project and found a bunch of things that were not correct.  I myself picked up an engine that looked freshly rebuilt, nice new Wiseco 1075 kit and cams.  But when I pulled it apart I found it was just tossed together and definitely was very not ready to run.

You got a killer deal on a fantastic pile of parts, but it would suck if someone left out a circlip, or didn't check the valve-piston clearance, or any of 100 other things that could ruin your day.

I'd be inclined to pull it apart and make sure it's really ready to run.

Great point. Sounds like my best option is to table this for now. Stay focused on getting my crankshaft, finishing this project before starting another. I’m going to replace the cam cover gasket, seal it up best as I can and tuck it away till I have full focus to address it.
